Every reporting entity captured by the Tranche 2 reforms must ensure that all relevant staff understand their AML/CTF obligations and receive ongoing training appropriate to their role. ClearAML includes a full learning management system (LMS) so your team can complete mandatory training, pass automated knowledge-check quizzes, acknowledge policy documents, and download CPD certificates — all without leaving the platform.
Staff training is included on all ClearAML plans at no additional cost.

Training dashboard

Each team member accesses their personal training dashboard by navigating to My Compliance in the left sidebar. The dashboard shows:
  • Assigned — total number of modules assigned to you
  • Completed — modules you have passed or acknowledged
  • Pending — modules not yet completed, including any that have expired or were failed
  • Quiz Score — your average score across all attempted quiz modules
The compliance officer or admin can monitor firm-wide training completion from the Compliance Hub Overview tab. The Staff Trained card shows a percentage progress bar indicating how many staff have completed all assigned modules. When any module has incomplete staff, the firm’s Program Status turns At Risk and lists the affected modules with a count of outstanding completions.

Available training modules

ClearAML provides three types of training content:

Quiz

Knowledge-check assessments with multiple-choice questions. You must reach the passing score to mark the module complete. You can retake a failed quiz at any time.

Policy document

Written policies that you must read and formally acknowledge. Your acknowledgement is recorded in the audit trail with a timestamp, your account details, and request metadata.

Personal due diligence (PDD)

An identity and suitability check required for personnel in compliance-sensitive roles. Submitted for admin review; status progresses through In Progress → Awaiting Review → Verified.
Modules list their pass mark and frequency (how often they must be repeated, in months). When a module expires, its status resets to pending and it reappears in your training queue.

How to complete training

1

Open My Compliance

Navigate to My Compliance in the sidebar. You will see a card for each module assigned to you, showing its type, description, pass mark, and current status.
2

Start or resume a module

  • For a quiz: click Start (or Retake if you previously failed). Questions are presented one at a time. Your progress is saved as a draft in your browser, so you can close the dialog and resume where you left off.
  • For a policy document: click Read & Acknowledge. Open the document, read it, then check the confirmation checkbox and click Acknowledge & Complete.
  • For a PDD check: click Start Check to open the personal due diligence form. Fill in the required fields and submit. Status will update to Awaiting Review while your compliance officer reviews the submission.
3

Submit your answers

On a quiz, answer every question and click Submit Answers. ClearAML grades your submission immediately and displays your score. If you pass, the module card updates to Compliant. If you fail, click Retake to try again — there is no limit on attempts.
4

Download your CPD certificate

Once a quiz or policy module is marked complete, a CPD certificate is available for download from the module card. The certificate records the module name, your name, completion date, and score (for quizzes).
Your in-progress quiz answers are auto-saved to your browser after every question. If you close the quiz dialog mid-way, your answers will be waiting when you reopen it.

Automated quizzes

Quiz modules are fully automated. ClearAML:
  1. Presents each question in sequence — you must answer one before advancing
  2. Validates that all questions are answered before allowing submission
  3. Grades your submission instantly against the stored correct answers
  4. Records the result (score, status, and timestamp) in your training record
  5. Writes the completion event to the firm’s tamper-proof audit trail
If a quiz module has a frequency set (for example, every 12 months), ClearAML marks it as expired after that period and it reappears in your pending queue automatically.

Tracking team completion as an admin

Compliance officers and admins can monitor training progress across the whole firm without switching between individual accounts. The Staff Trained card on the Compliance Hub Overview tab shows a firm-wide completion percentage. If the percentage is below 100%, the Program Status card turns At Risk. Clicking At Risk opens the Risk Factors sheet, which lists each incomplete training module with:
  • The module title
  • How many staff have completed it versus the total (e.g. 3/5 done)
  • The names of up to two staff members who have not yet completed it, plus a count of any additional people
Click View Team Training in the Risk Factors sheet to go directly to the team management page where you can see the full per-staff, per-module breakdown.
Staff who have not completed their assigned training modules contribute to your firm’s At Risk status. AUSTRAC expects all relevant personnel to be trained before your firm begins providing designated services.

AUSTRAC e-learning

In addition to ClearAML’s built-in modules, AUSTRAC provides a free e-learning portal. A direct link to AUSTRAC E-Learning is available at the top of the My Compliance page. This material covers foundational AML/CTF knowledge and can supplement your firm’s internal training program.
